Get a Library Card
If you live within the city limits of Spring Valley, you may get a library card free of charge, as part of your tax-supported library service.
How to obtain a library card:
- Have a valid driver’s license or a photo ID(school ID) with your current address.
- Have another document showing residence in Spring Valley. (e.g., Mail, check, water bill, bills, etc.)
- Bring these items to the library to sign up for a library card.
- Children under 14 years old must have an adult or guardian present at initial application for a library card.
- Your library card will be valid for three(3) years for adults and 2 years for children. (At this time, we will ask to update your address and other information to reissue/renew your library card.)
- There is a fee of $5.00 to replace damaged, destroyed, lost or stolen library cards.
Your library card allows you to:
- Borrow books from our library and many other public libraries in Illinois.
- Gain Access to Omnilibraries to download e-books and e-audiobooks on your Kindle or IPad. Website is: https://omnilibraries.overdrive.com .
If you wish to use the Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library services, please bring in your library card with you. If you do not have a library card and live close to Spring Valley, our charge for non-residents is $57.00 per year.
