Your Library Card

Library cards are provided free of charge to all residents of Spring Valley that live within the city limits, as part of your tax-supported library services. Your card gives you borrowing privileges at the Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library and at most public libraries in Illinois, access to special online resources, and more. Bring in a picture ID and a proof of your current resident address to the library to sign up for a library card.

Interlibrary Loan

If you need a book, DVD, or other item that we don’t have on our shelves, please talk with the librarians or call 815-663-4741, so we may borrow it from another library for you. Each patron of the Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library may place their own holds, renew their items, and pay fines online at www.prairiecat.info/library/2035. Your account in Encore (Public Catalog) is your 14 digit library card number and the pin is the last four digits of the bar code. Reference Desk

Our library has an extensive reference collection available to the public. Also, we have accumulated many local history books and media that is stored behind the desk. Ask the desk librarian what you are looking for and they will be happy to assist you.

Computers

Our library several public computers available for use. You are able to use microsoft office programs, the internet, print black & white or color, and scan media into digital formats. Everyone who uses a library computer must follow our policy regarding Internet and Computer Use.
Prices for Printing: Black & White $0.20 per page

Color $0.50 per page

Photocopiers and Fax Machine

At the front desk,we are able to assist you with faxing and photocoping.

Faxing prices:
To Send: $2.00 first sheet (cover sheet not included in price), $1.00 for every sheet after. International faxes cost $7.00 per minute of use.
To receive: $1.00 first sheet and $.50 for every sheet after.

Photocopies (black&white): $0.20 each
Lamination is $.50 per foot. Each lamination is not to exceed 18 inches wide.

Community/Meeting Room

Any group wishing to use the Community Room must get in contact with a staff member of the library to ask permission and also agree to follow library policies. The Community Room may not be used after library hours.

Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library has a wide selection of books, periodicals, computer accessibility, and childrens reading programs for the public use. The library also offers many services such as laminating, faxing, copying, scanning, and computer help when needed.

***You may see library staff taking photographs during library programs. These photographs may be used in both print and digital promotional material. If you’d like to keep yourself or your child from appearing in these promotions, please make sure our photographer is aware of your wishes.
