Policies

Behavior in the Library

In order to provide a more positive environment for our patrons, the Board has implemented the following guidelines:

  • The library is available to those wishing to research information, do homework, check out materials, read quietly, or participate in library programs. Those patrons who are not involved in these pursuits will be asked to leave.
  • Telephone calls, both incoming and outgoing will be limited.
  • The library is not a playground or free babysitting service.
  • In addition, any patron who does not cooperate with the librarians will be given a verbal warning and handed a copy of the Patron Conduct Policy. The second time these is a problem, the patron will be suspended from the library building at the librarian’s discretion. The third time there is a problem the patron must appear before the Library Board.

Our library has much to offer and we hope that this policy will foster more rewarding experiences and continues to make the library an enjoyable place for all patrons.
